Several years ago, a colleague and I were travelling by car in South Georgia. We pulled off the interstate to buy gas and I couldn’t help but see this guy and his shiny red bass boat in the gas bay beside us.
The first thing we noticed was the size of the Johnson outboard motor on the boat. It was HUGE!! It dwarfed the little bass boat it was attached to. My friend and I agreed it had to be the largest outboard we had seen on a boat that size.
As the guy stood pumping his truck full of gas, he saw me staring at the enormous motor. I said with a big grin, ”The motor is almost as big as the boat!” He nodded, spit, and said with a slow drawl, “Yeah-up. I’m proud of my big Johnson.”
