Some subjects call for detail and some don't. Like you I fight with knowing when to leave it out :-) I've got a couple of oils coming up tomorrow (they have to dry so I can scan them) where I managed to leave out the details. The detail in this little card is so amazing! The silver scroll work and the wood grain look so real. You must have a lot of patience!
