Apparently, my last post scared off one of my email subscribers.
When I awoke Wednesday, the first thing I saw in my inbox was a notification that someone had “un” subscribed.
This calls for immediate diplomatic action on a large scale.
So, I give to you dear readers who may be sitting on the fence, contemplating bailing out on Idle Minutes because of something I wrote or sketched, a peace offering.
Not just any peace offering, not a mere olive branch. No. I offer you, in the spirit of good will, an entire olive tree.
I offer it in the hope that you might not take my sometimes off-the-wall scribblings so seriously that they cause you great wailing and gnashing of the teeth. I have wailed and gnashed my teeth before, and I for one do not believe it is good for you.
So please dear readers, accept this olive tree as a token of my desire not to offend or disappoint, but to simply sketch and write stuff, most of which is harmless.

I, for one, am not scared off. Sure, there’s been drawings that were not exactly my cup of tea, but that’s okay too. I don’t comment very often, but I try to make it count when I do.
I admire your talent, no matter what the offering may be. That is what viewing art -whether on someone’s Blog or in an art gallery or exhibit - is all about. We admire the artist and what he is saying and how he chooses to express it. It doesn’t always mean we have to like it. Talent comes in many forms. Yours is rich in it’s diversity.
Love the Olive tree! The colours are beautiful! Please don’t stop your style of creating, just because not everyone happens to like it. You are unique, and your art is but an expression of that uniqueness.
Don, love the olive tree but I have to tell you there are loads of reasons people un subscribe. I belong to both blog lines and google reader. Maybe someone added you to those lists and did not need to subscribe anymore.
I love your work and posts. Just do what’s in your heart. If you build it they will come.
Bonny,
Thanks for the kind comments, very much appreciated. I won’t be changing anything. These sketches and writings will continue to just pop out of the ol’ head and land on the paper willy nilly as usual.
Lindsay,
You’re right. Could be they just added Idle Minutes to a reader and didn’t need the email any longer. Either way, they got an olive tree out of the deal.
