I’m sorry Zan. I certainly didn’t mean to offend you.
I’m simply showing how absurd it is to do such a thing as to strap a bomb to one’s self for ANY cause and how sometimes the person who appears to be the goofiest is truly the only one with any sense.
The guy in the middle thinks the other two are kidding with him. Of course they are not.
The two who have asked him to do such a bizarre thing are perplexed at his disobedient attitude…
So the question in this sketch is: who is really the idiot?
I think it goes without saying to anyone who reads this blog that I am 100% against the absurd idea of strapping a bomb to one’s self and exploding it among innocent people.
That is all I am illustrating here.
The people I would expect to be offended would be Muslim terrorists. And frankly, I’m not bothered if I have offended any of them.
Zan,
I do want to say that I, apparently like you, get pretty weary of all the “commentary” we’re bombarded with each day.
In that light, you needn’t worry that I’ll become obsessed with creating political cartoon tripe and commentary. There is way too much of that out there as it is.
When I created this cartoon, like practically everything I create, it sort of just evolved into what it is.
You’re right to point out that it was out of the normal character of this blog and what the readers anticipate. I hope you will accept my apology for that.
You have nothing to apologies for Don. Your work is great and I am a strong believer in the first amendment. I was just exercising my own first amendment view albeit in your space and bandwidth. For that I thank you.
The funny thing Don, is that no one calls Timothy Mcveigh or the IRA, Christian terrorists although their “religion” had a lot to do with their deeds. I find no difference between someone killing innocent people by a suicide bomb or a remote detonated bomb. They are murderers all the same.
What I dislike, is the stereo-typing of Muslims. I have no doubt that you did not mean any harm, of course you didn’t. You often stereo-type the dear Red-neck delightfully. It is just that Red-necks are not under indiscriminate attack as a group, while the Muslims, sadly, are.

Don, I love your work, but I really didn’t care much for this one. I wish I had missed it.
