Quieting the Mind

Creek at East Cobb Park

Just a little something to facilitate moving past having my mug as the current post. No story, just a sketch. Took a walk, sat and sketched the creek.

  1. I like it! These moments of capturing a scene are so restorative, aren’t they?

  2. Hi Karen,
Thanks for stopping by and for the comment!
Yes, it’s a very good way to clear the head. It’s almost like waking from a sleep when you’re done. Pleasant concentration is like that if one can feel as though they’ve completed something.

  3. This is really wonderful. Just looking at your sketch makes me feel relaxed, too. I like the almost dry brush effect you have on the soil at the foot of the tree. You make this painting look as if you really had fun doing it.

    Love it!

  4. Hi Bonny!
    Thanks for the kind comments.

Honestly, I wasn’t particularly satisfied with the end result as being very “good”. But I was satisfied with the relaxation it provided :-)
I’m glad you liked it though. That makes me feel a lot better about it! :-)
