Scooters are easy to ride, no shifting. Just twist the throttle and go. But, take a safe riding course regardless!!! Especially having never been on any two wheelers. There is a vast difference in being on two wheels and four. You'll need a license too if you get a scooter that is fast enough to be ridden on a highway. I've been on the back of a friend's Harley twice, and while it was fun it did not make me want to get one because it seemed so big and kind of scary. But somehow a Vespa seems tamer.
