Say, What’s This All About Anyway?

This blog is an illustrated, somewhat humorous, journal.
I like to draw, I like to paint, I like to write. I like making new friends through this medium.
There are some really fine folk who read this blog.
I’d like you to become one.

Regarding My Writings Here…

I observe life as it flies by and try to see things from a different angle. I try to find some humor in what I observe…light-hearted, dry humor. It’s sort of life as I see it, or imagine it, which can sometimes be a little odd.

The result is usually a pen and watercolor sketch or drawing with a short explanation or story.

Why Would You Want to Read This Stuff?

I believe everybody needs a little something to look forward to each day.
Most times I try to bring some humor to what I write here. Not much heavy stuff here, we get enough of that. No politics either. Politicians do what they want after they are elected anyway ;-)
You won’t bend over laughing, but you’ll get a chuckle most times.
Sometimes you may learn something.
Some of the articles you will identify with.
Some of them will cause you to wonder why the heck you read my blog.
Some will cause you to just wonder.

Regarding My Art

I paint watercolors and sell them, primarily on eBay at auction. You can bid on them here…
I also feature the auctions of other favorite artists who list on eBay.
I’m not famous or formally educated in the arts but I’ve been drawing and painting and sketching for as long as I can remember.
I don’t emulate anyone but I really admire and enjoy John Singer Sargent’s art, particularly his watercolors. I’m not really too complicated of a person so my art and writing reflects that.

I specialize in small watercolor paintings. The two sizes I paint most often are 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ (ACEO) and 4″ x 6″. Occasionally I create 5″x7″, 6″x8″, and 7″x10″. There is a demand for small paintings because they are relatively inexpensive, beautiful, and they fill all those little places in your decor that “need something”. Not only that, one can build a large collection of small original paintings and easily enjoy them all in just one room or a series of albums. Collecting original art is fun and brings beauty into one’s life.

All the items I auction are original, one of a kind watercolors created by me. I don’t offer prints. Bidding on them is easy and I start all my auctions at a very reasonable $4.95. Shipping is Always Free! So don’t hesitate to bid if you see something you like.

What is an ACEO?

The 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ pieces in particular have a large following around the world as collectible paintings. They are known as ACEO paintings which stands for Art Cards, Editions and Originals. The only “rule” for creating them is the size. They are the same size as a baseball card.

There is a wide variety of artwork created as ACEO’s by artists using all sorts of mediums. I feature many of them right here on the site. Have a look under the “Affordable Fine Art” header in the column at left and get your collection started ;-)

How Old Am I?

I’m near fifty. I only say it that way so I don’t have to remember to update this page with each birthday.

Do I Have a Family?

I’m married with dog. Rosie is the dog. She’s a Pembroke Welsh Corgi and a real rascal, even at thirteen years.

I hope you have some fun here and please, be sure to leave your comments on any article when you get the urge. I really like to hear from my readers.
