Google

For any of my readers that have a website or blog and have wondered how to get more traffic to your site, there is a key element called “link popularity”. I found a great article on how to increase link popularity and I thought I’d share it with you. You’re probably wondering why I would care about website traffic in the first place since I’m just a sketch blogger. Well, I develop websites for small service businesses as one of my sources of income. So, I have to be able to direct my clients to solid resources of information about the realities of using their website for marketing.

Now for many of you, this subject may just bore you to tears. So, I’ll leave you with the link above if you’re interested in the subject. By and large, depending on your niche, getting noticed on search engines can be a full time job. And contrary to popular belief, it isn’t free. However, lots of folks are looking for trusted information about the process since there is an abundance of conflicting information out there. The article will point you in the right direction.

Early Christmas Shopping

searching for cool gadgets

Not that I’m in the Christmas mood yet, but I do like to begin looking for gift ideas about this time of year. I used to be a last minute shopper. I just don’t have the energy to do that any more so I just start shopping online kind of early. Sometimes you can find good deals.

Inevitably, if you search online a lot, you’ll find unique items that you may not see in the mall stores…ever. For people like my brother, who is particularly hard to buy for, you can usually find something they haven’t even seen before. Ebay is a pretty good resource, but you also find them by bouncing around the search results you get at Google and other search engines.

Such was the case with the ZTMax Multifunctional Digital Mini Speaker I found. I think I searched on cool gadgets and found the little stinker after some extensive digging past the usual suspects. For your convience, I’ve pointed the link above directly to the site. I’ve not decided to buy it yet, but it has promise. My brother would like it because it has speakers built in, it’s small, and it reads SD cards. A 1GB sd card will hold a fair amount of music and the unit will play for about 10 hours on a charge according to the website. I could see him taking it to the beach or a hike or something. If nothing else, he could put it on his desk or nightstand.

Truth be told, he’ll probably just give it to Goodwill. He’ll probably give anything I buy him to Goodwill. He already has everything he really likes.

Maybe I’ll just paint him a picture on a postcard and mail it to him….
