We took a drive today, a very dreary, overcast day. We went to the Grand Mesa again but on the way took a little detour back into this area to see what was there. A coal fired energy plant used to occupy the area just off I-70 by the Colorado River but it was recently decommissioned and completely disassembled.
Just past that area I saw these two lone Juniper? trees perched on a rock outcrop & thought they would be kinda fun to sketch.
We didn't see any wild Mustangs but we really didn't go very far into the preserve…we would've needed a 4WD vehicicle due to the muddy road. So we retreated and headed on up to the Mesa.
